Scotland Can Make It! 2014

Back to Projects.

Scotland Can Make It! is a collection of six limited edition souvenirs, designed and manufactured entirely in Scotland.

The souvenirs offer an alternative to the common notion of mass-produced and branded merchandise, representing a broad range of disciplines, styles and ways of making. Though desirable and saleable products, none conform to our expectations of a traditionally Scottish keepsake. What brings the souvenirs together as a collection is their connection to Scottish manufacturing. Their form is a direct result of the story of their making – a collaboration between artist and industry.

Commissioned by Panel for 2014 the souvenirs feature the following products and collaborators:

A set of three lambswool travel blankets with leather carry cases, by Atelier EB and Marc Camille Chaimowicz with Alex Begg and Co. and McRostie of Glasgow View the film here
